Keith has been at the forefront of many history projects over the years, and has been a persistent, dedicated researcher of North Country history, with a focus on Plattsburgh. His ongoing involvement includes Keith's current position as president of the Battle of Plattsburgh Association (BOPA).

In addition to his book, September Eleventh 1814: The Battles at Plattsburgh (2007), Keith edited and reprinted The Journal of H.K. Averill, Sr. (2001) with permission from the Averill family. All proceeds go to the benefit of BOPA.
